Today's Screening covers Hollywood films, anime, and entertainment news. This page explains how we produce what you read, so you can judge how much weight to give it.
How we cover films
Every post is written specifically for this site. We don't republish studio press releases as articles, and we don't syndicate content from elsewhere.
Our coverage falls into three types, and we try to be clear about which is which:
- Previews and guides – release dates, cast, plot and where to watch. These report confirmed facts and clearly mark anything unannounced.
- Reviews and verdicts – our opinion, presented as opinion.
- News – reporting on announcements, trailers and industry developments as they happen.
Where our facts come from
Release dates, cast lists and streaming availability come from studio and distributor announcements, official trailers, and platform listings. Critic and audience scores are attributed to their source, usually Rotten Tomatoes or IMDb, and reflect the figure at the time of writing.
Scores move. Box office figures change. Streaming rights expire and shift between platforms. Where a post states a figure, it was accurate when published.
What we don’t do
- We don't accept payment in exchange for a positive review or coverage.
- We don't host, stream or link to pirated content. Every "where to watch" recommendation points to a legitimate, licensed platform.
- We don't use movie posters or stills we don't have the right to use. Where a post shows a thematic stock image instead of official artwork, that is why.
- We don't invent ratings. If a film hasn't been released and has no score yet, we say so rather than publishing a placeholder number.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, we want to fix it. Get in touch and we'll correct the post. Substantive corrections to facts, not typos, will be noted on the post itself.
Affiliate links and advertising
This site may in future earn commission from affiliate links or display advertising. If and when that happens, any post containing affiliate links will say so clearly, and commercial arrangements will never influence a verdict. As of now, no affiliate links are in use.
